China to assist promote Pokhara tourism

 Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Yang Houlan has assured Chinese assistance in developing tourism sector in Pokhara.

“As Pokhara is a famous tourism destination, there is a need for an international airport and I will recommend the Chinese government for the same”, a report on the ekantipur quoted the Chinese envoy as saying.

There is increasing number of Chinese visitors in Nepal in off-season as well, so, construction of an international airport will assist further in boosting up the tourism sector, he added.

Chinese investors are interested to invest in Pokhara. He added, for this, if there is political stability, end of insurgency, establishment of peace and constitution then the environment will be more appropriate, said Yang.

Speaking at a programme organized by the tourism entrepreneurs of Pokhara, Yang said the relation between Nepal and China should be made stronger.

He said China is always ready to help Nepal in every aspect.

China is eager to assist in the sectors including electricity, construction of highways, airports, infrastructure development, other managerial and technical aspects, he added.
